This 2 Bedroom/2.5 Bath colonial townhouse is on a quiet street in the fashionable neighborhood of Chorro. It is four blocks from the Jardin (center). Around the neighborhood are some very beautiful homes and several nice B&B's and small hotels for your visitors. There are four small Mexican convenience stores for emergencies and a spirit shop all within one block. Getting home from the center after dinner is a $2.00, 3 minute cab ride. Casa Desiree has three floors. The ground floor has an arched entry way with a half bath. The entry leads to a comfortable sitting room with a large fireplace, TV set, and a dining area that easily seats 6 people and more under portraits of Fr. Hidalgo and Gen. Allende who were the fathers of the revolution. The kitchen is next to the dining room. It is a fully furnished kitchen, staffed daily by Luzma who is there six days a week to cook and clean. She is very pleasant and happy. The kitchen has a walk out patio with a running fountain and flowers for pleasant outdoor dining. |

The second floor has a living room with a sofa, comfortable easy chairs, a desk, TV with DVD player, a computer, DSL and wifi . The TV feed has about 15 English channels and 80 Spanish which is helpful while working on your accent. The main bedroom is next to the living room. It has a queen bed, some soft easy chairs, fireplace and it has a large bath with tub/shower and a large dressing room with closets. |

The third floor has the second bedroom which has twin beds which could become a queen, a fireplace, a full bath, and a big closet. The rest of the third floor is the outdoor roof deck. It has a beautiful view of the city, lots of flowers, sun lounges, a table to eat or read. There are two outdoor stoves, one is gas and the other wood burning for outdoor sunset cooking. |

The house has polished Saltillo tiles throughout, plush furniture, the kitchen and baths are decorative local hand painted Talavera tile, Mexican rugs throughout, local art work, a water purification system, colonial colors, comfort and style. It is great for entertaining. Beside the maid/cook there is a superintendent and gardener on call. Also, part of the property is a fully walled-in large lot next door so you can let your dog out with no fear of running away. Casa Desiree is a wonderful, pleasant place to enjoy the colonial Mexico. |
