Casa Santa Ana is one of San Miguel's finest historic homes. This gorgeous colonial masterpiece is located one and one-half blocks from the Jardín in El Centro. Built in 1752, Casa Santa Ana has been home to many prominent people including president Santa Ana during his eleventh presidency in 1833. The house fell into ruins until 1985 when it was renovated and opened as a hotel known as Villa Santa Ana. |
|
In 1994 Page Hayes bought the property and, with the help of well known colonial architect and the former director of the Historical Society, Olga Adriana, further restored the Casa Santa Ana over a two year period. Page was a lifetime collector and patron of the arts and her tremendous collection of paintings, drawings, and sculptures remain displayed throughout the house. Casa Santa Ana has been included in the Biblioteca's House and Garden tour multiple times and featured in several magazines. Casa Santa Ana has five bedrooms plus a bonus room and six bathrooms. There are four suites, a rooftop bedroom with a separate 1/2 bath, and a room with a single bed and separate 1/2 bath on the first floor. |

The first suite has a queen sized four-poster bed, a sitting area, a walk in closet, and bathtub. The second suite has a king sized bed, walk in closet, and over-sized bathtub. The master suite features a library (which may be used as a second living room) with plush leather furniture, fireplace, and high speed internet. Adjoining the library and separated by doors is the bedroom chamber with a four-poster canopy queen bed, an oversized bathtub, and plenty of closet space. The fourth suite is playfully decorated and has a double bed and shower. The rooftop bedroom with queen bed offers views on three sides looking over the city. Imagine looking directly at the Parroquia from your bed when you wake up in the morning! |

The views from the rooftop terrace are truly extraordinary. You can sit on the expansive terrace and watch the sunset over the beautiful stone churches and historic buildings in the city center. The rooftop bar is a great place to read and visit, or entertain. The courtyard has been freshly landscaped and restored under the direction of Landscape Architect Timoteo Wachter staying true to the colonial style. The openness of the courtyard provides an opportunity to see clearly the pleasing stone arches and stacked terraces that define colonial architecture. |
